 The Ride

Cycling in Himalayas is one ofworld’s most sought after cycling experiences. The mystic sapphire lakes, the rugged and rusty terrains, peacefully ambience and dive deep into the melody of the Himalayas. Leave your worldly problems home and pack minimally for this once in a lifetime experience. So, let the magic of marooned monastery, independence and soft breeze, swirl up your senses for the good. An exclusive opportunity to discover the great state of Himachal Pradesh as it is known to its natives. This Cycling tour discovering the colors of Himachal entails riding through the Monasteries and Mountainrange of Himachal all the way from Manali to Shimla. The tour has been designed in such a way that the cyclists have the necessary leverage in the downhill sections to recover from the tenacious climbing sections of the tour.

Duration of Tour : 10 Nights 11 days: We ride around 40- 50 Kilometers each day over the duration of 4-5 Hours (Depending on the distance to be covered on a particular day), supervised by a Tour Captain.

Chartered Transfers: Working towards proving a hassle free adventure for the cyclists, we take care of all the necessary transportations and a support van shall be at disposal of all the cyclists in the group to assist in the time of need. The cyclists will be provided new mountain bikes for the tour with complete wear and tear assistance with the bikes. In this programme we cover over many major attractions over a course of 11 days. To ensure best of the riding experience we cycle between 7 AM till lunch time and rest of the journey is travelled in the S.U.V to maximise the exploration.

Stay: Stay at some boutique Hotels/cottages/ Guest House best in the category as per the availability at the destination are included in this program at Tirthan Valley we will be having option of staying in good class of camps basic modern amenities which is another good experience.

Cycling in Himachal Pradesh: We get to experience Himachali culture first hand when we interact with the locals, we try to understand their lifestyle and learn some fun ways to lead a simple yet comfortable life. A fully supported ride with support staff such as a tour captain to help you attain the necessary motivation required to pedal this journey . We work closely with the cyclists even in advance to provide necessary tips, training and motivation required to complete this physically and psychologically challenging feat.

 Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:  Delhi Arrival

On your arrival you will be greeted with your Tour captain at the airport and drive to a comfortable hotel in the heart of New Delhi. New Delhi is the mogul of Indian cities. The national capital has an abundance of chic cafes and historic buildings.

  Your day in New Delhi

There is no planned activity today and the day is left to your leisure for you to shape your Delhi experience. Grab a map from the hotel desk and decide whether you want to grab a seat at a cultural event or relax in a cozy café of if you arrived early venture out in the streets of Old Delhi for a sightseeing tour of Jama Masjid, Khari Baoli Market, Chandni Chowk and the Red Fort. After lunch visit the Qutub Minar by late afternoon back to Hotel, Necessary arrangements can be made on request. You can choose to just lie in your room and recover from the weariness of your flight. Evening get ready for the welcome meeting with the Tour Leader and fellow riders followed by Dinner at some nice restaurant and overnight stay.

Day 2:  Delhi – Manali

The day begins with an early breakfast. Pack your bags and hit the road for our long drive to Manali. Manali is the queen of Himachal and the gateway to hundred of adventure trips in the Himalayas. On arrival Check in Hotel followed by Dinner and Overnight stay in Manali.

Day 3: Manali (Acclimatization)

Morning in Mountains, relish over a sumptuous Himalayan Breakfast.

After Breakfast we will be introduced to our support team and bikes. Tour captain extensively briefs us about the route and the nuances of bicycle riding in the mountains along with the activities planned for the days that follow.

Acclimatization Ride- 30 kilometers /A ride in the valley/2000 m

We will start our first ride through, Manali, Aleo, jagatsukh, Sarsei and back to Manali. We will have lunch on the way. By high afternoon you will be back to hotel. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 4: Manali - Marhi – Rothang- Manali

Start the day with breakfast in the hotel the tour captain briefs us about the route and the challenges that await us and handover the necessary gear.

 The Ride
 Cycling 35km, Altitude: 3320 Meters

Hop on the bikes to begin this memorable journey riding through this valley laid with colorful flowers in the fields. The landscape it feels was specifically designed for an adventure seeking cyclist. Riding through hairpin curves the road leads us to the small town of Marhi. We relish on some well deserved food and later drive a steep climb of 12km to the Rohtang pass, at Rohatang snow peaked glaciers await us in the line of the Horizon. After some relaxation at Rohatang we have an option of riding downhill back to Manali. The day ends with dinner in the hotel followed by overnight stay.

Day 5: Manali - Jana waterfall- Bhunter

The road from nagar to Jana waterfall is surrounded by beautiful pine trees and view of snow clad mountains. It is a small waterfall but the main attraction of the place is organic and delicious local food served here in several stalls near waterfall.

The Ride
Cycling 40km, Altitude: 1089 Meters

Today morning we will drive to Naggar Village and from there we will be riding our bikes to Jana Waterfall. After having our lunch in Jana, we will drive to Kotadhar as the track is not good for cycling, and from Kotadhar we will again start downhill ride to Kais and onwards to Bhunter. Overnight will be in the Hotel.

Day 6: Bhunter - Kasol
Kasol

Kasol is a village in Himachal Pradesh, northern India. It is situated in Parvati Valley, on the banks of the Parvati River, on the way between Bhuntar to Manikaran. It is located at the height of 1640 meters.

Ride
Cycling 40km, Altitude: 1580 Meters

After having breakfast we will be then start cycling to Parvati valley. It is one of the best cycling area with an beautiful valley view with surrounded mountains and a beautiful river.

  Your day in Kasol

Kasol is an ideal place for relaxing, one can also indulge in some nerve wracking activities like river rafting. Another option is Located hardly 15 minutes from Kasol, ‘ Manikaran Gurudwara ‘ which lies deftly on the banks of Parvati River. It serves as a major pilgrim center for Hindus and Sikhs. which is also popular for its hot springs. Dinner in Hotel followed by overnight stay.

Day 7: Kasol - Tirthan Valley - 65km Cycling Distance

Situated besides the Tirthan River in Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of 1600 meters, Tirthan Valley is a gateway to the Great Himalayan National Park. A place where you can easily forget the world to relax and have loads of nature walks following one trail or the other, into the woods or besides the river.

Today morning after having the breakfast , group will be driven to Aut, and from there they can start doing the cycling till to Tirthan valley, Depends on our pace, if they want to stretch more then we can ride further more into the valley, Over Night will be in the Guest house or in the beautiful camp.

  Trekking in Great Himalayan National Park

The Great Himalayan National Park is a blessing in disguise for nature lovers. From lush green forests to blooming flowers and meandering streams, this place also houses various well laid out trek paths. A short trekking to this place does promise a wonderful experience and equally amazing trip.

Day 8: Tirthan Valley – Luhri – Shimla
  Shimla

Shimla is the capital of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, in the Himalayan foothills. Once the summer capital of British India, with steep forested hillsides falling away in all directions, Traffic is banned from the central part of town, so walking is pleasant – even when huffing and puffing uphill. The long, winding main street, the Mall, runs east and west just below the spine of the hill. South of it, the maze-like alleys of the bustling bazaar cascade steeply down to traffic-infested Cart road.

 The Ride
 Cycling 60km, Altitude: 2276Meters

Wake up to the shimmering sun on top of the hill. After a quick breakfast get ready for a day filled with thrill and adrenaline. Start riding on the gravel path up the mountains on this menacing road that will test your stamina as well as your bike handling skills. Todays ride is mix of down hill strenuous climb to Luhri, After this challenging ride we drive from Lurhi to one of the most romantic city in the world, Shimla

Day 9: Shimla

Wake up to the Shimla morning with the sun lights over the mountains looks like sparkling pool of diamonds. This day has been awarded to you as a rest day to help you shed all the weariness from over 9 days on riding your bicycles across Himalayas.

A relaxing day in the city of Shimla will give you enough time to explore the Hill Station Shimla. You can choose to relax at your hotel or venture out to walk on Mall road. visit the Kufri, an exotic of nature as a place surrounded by dense forest and snow capped mountains amidst virgin peaks and natures flora and fauna where one can completely relax and tune oneself for natural beauty, situated at an altitude of 2500 meters just an hour’s drive from shimla. take a walking tour of Shimla &, visit the Jakhoo hills which, offers panoramic views of the Shimla town, Vice-regal lodge Mall road, late evening back to hotel in at Shimla. This is the last day of this vibrant journey, we bid farewell to the mighty Mountains , scenic waterfalls and especially the colorful people of Himachal with a Gala Dinner, followed by overnight stay.

Day 10: Shimla to Delhi
 Distance 350 kilometers / 8-9 hrs

Morning after breakfast, we will drive back to Delhi, on arrival at Delhi transferred to the Hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: Departure

On this day with a sumptuous breakfast we part ways and say our goodbyes to our fellow riders and congratulate each other on the successful completion of this mammoth expedition we part ways and celebrate this moment of pride. This journey ends with a lot of last longing memories that we will cherish for the years to come.

As this lovely time spent on our bicycles ends here, we part ways with a souvenir for you to show your friends back home when you share your Himachal memoirs.
